Use Cases

What is a Floating IP

A floating IP is a static public IP that can be reassigned to a networked device without needing to change the device’s location. It can be mapped either to a private instance (via Internet Gateway) or to a network service like Octavia LBaaS. A floating IP enables you to rapidly redirect the IP for a Public Cloud instance or network service to another instance or service. This ensures high availability, failover and business continuity.
